This coconut water kefir can be made in three different ways: by using kefir grains, using existing kefir as a starter, or a kefir starter culture. But the most inexpensive way is to use kefir grains.
- 7 cups fresh of coconut water
- 1 Ceylon cinnamon stick
- 5 tablespoons of water kefir grains
Method of preparation:
You should pour the coconut water into a 1/2 gallon jar, add the water kefir grains, after that cover the jar loosely. Let it for 48 hours, but no longer than that, as longer fermentation can cause an explosion.
It gets a lighter color when it is fermented, and when the culturing process ends, the kefir grains will rise up to the top. You should remove the grains, and they can be re-used again if you immediately want to make another batch.
