Flu-Fighting Garlic and Ginger Soup
In this recipe are combined superfoods. The soup is great in relieving symptoms of sinus, flu or cold infection.
- 2 peeled and finely diced garlic cloves
- 50 g of grated ginger root
- 1 finely diced medium-hot chili pepper
- 4 green finely sliced onions
- 7 cups of stock or chicken broth (or in case you’re a vegan, use vegetable stock)
You should combine the ginger, onions and garlic in a large pot. For a couple of minutes saute them.
Then put the stock or broth and leave to boil.
In the end add chili and simmer for 5 minutes.
You can serve it with warm bread.
If you do not like chili you can also use other spices like cinnamon which is also full of health benefits.
To make it healthier you can add butternut squash and carrots. Simmer until they become soft and puree them at the end.
If you add chopped broccoli, sliced mushrooms and cubed organic chicken cutlets this soup will be finally complete. If you are vegan add some beans instead of chicken.
