The Health Benefits of Cabbage

This vegetable is abundant with  vitamins, potassium, and iron and it is very common in both Western and Eastern cuisines. It has power to cleanse the blood, live and treat arthritis and remove blemishes. If you consume on a regular basis, it can rejuvenate the skin and eliminate skin irritations, acne, eczema, rashes, psoriasis, pimples, wounds,  leg ulcers, as well as redness.

If you include cruciferous vegetables to your daily diet it will make your skin look younger by slowing down the process of aging. The vitamins A and D contained in them will maintain the health of the skin and prevent destruction of skin cells.

The Different Types of Cabbage

Green cabbage

It is the common type added to salads, meals, and side dishes and it is rich in nutrients and vitamins.

Red cabbage

It is denser than the green one and has a more peppery flavor, but it is also rich in nutrients.

Savoy cabbage

This type is darker and bigger leaves and it is pale or light green. Its  leaves are great for wrapping various fillings.

Bok choy

It is in fact Chinese type of  cabbage and it has an oval shape, a pale green color, and leaves with white veins.

How to Use It to Alleviate Joint Ache

Compresses with this vegetable, are perfect cure for pain in the joints.

For cabbage compress, you will need:

  • Gauze
  • Red cabbage

Aluminum foil

Directions: You should remove the outer leaf of the this vegetable and wash it with water. Let  it to dry and cut the hard stem. After that use a rolling pin over the leaf to release the juice. Than wrap it in the foil and warm it in the oven for a bit. You need to put onto the painful area and attach it with gauze. After 60 minutes take it off.

Do the treatment two times per day.
